Utah teen ready for nerd olympics
Ben Cook, some geek from Provo, Utah, set the world record for fastest text messaging on Friday. He typed a 160-character standardized message in 42.22 seconds.
The phrase used for "professional, competition texting," is:
The razor-toothed pirahnas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.
First of all, competition texting? Is that a joke? And is holding the world record in this really something to be proud of? Don't answer that.
As to be expected, about 20 minutes ago I pulled out my phone and composed the message, just to see where I rank in the nerd kingdom. I finished in just over three minutes, stopping the clock at 3:08. Amateur! I reckon I can improve on my time with a strict training regimen, thumb weights, texting drills and the will of a champion.
That'll woo the ladies! "Hey, baby, look how fast I can text!" My best pick-up line yet.

Well, it's not quite as effective as the Squirt Gun for starting conversations. But, I bet it would impress Mandy.
You wouldn't even have to say the pick-up line, because you could just text it to her. BUU-Ha-Ha!
