uniquely dex

I had to send in three unique facts about myself for a conference I'm attending next week. I jotted a few things down, chose three, sent them on and just as I was about to throw away the "rejected unique facts" about myself I had a thought. That's right, this is just the type of worthless crap that goes in a blog!

So here they are, rejected unique facts about dex:

  • I used to travel in a Greyhound bus with my family's singing group (too Partridge family)
  • I often credit one summer of a roofing job as providing the motivation to finish college quickly (this is not a knock on the intelligence of roofers, it turns out that I'm not too passionate about roofing and I have woefully low aptitude)
  • I passed the CPA exam on my first try (too pompous, but better aptitude than roofing)
  • In the middle of an English class on poetry I had the teacher project a poem on the screen asking my date to prom (she said yes)
  • I think I would enjoy being a day-trader (too wishy-washy and boring)
  • Competing against two friends, I once drank a 2-liter bottle of warm generic cola in a half hour (no I'm not talking about the nice boys, this was long ago, we were bored, we lived in a small town, I don't think I would do it again cuz I felt weird for a long time, I lost)
  • I have worked at the same company for over a decade (Micron Technology, I thought this one was unique in our culture today)
